1.Hi The Charles Shaw Project ! Tell us who you are...
THE CHARLES SHAW PROJECT are two humanoids that play Acoustic music.
2.What’s the origins of your formation ?
We formed as a music side project between Aimee Chadwick & TJ Nordaker. We are both in the movie business and we met at "Fangoria’s weekend of Horrors" ( a horror movie convention held in Los Angeles ), Aimee was promoting her movies RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 4 & 5 that she acted in and TJ was promoting THE JANITOR which he directed. Both of us are music fanatics as well so we decided to start a project together.
3.What is the signification of "Charles Shaw Project" ?
"Charles Shaw" also known as "two buck chuck" is a wine here in the states. We came up with the name because we would write music while drinking this beverage of choice.
4.Just a guitar and voices... Why this choice ?
We wanted to do something simple, we both love acoustic music and we liked the idea of being able to tour in our VW bug and not driving in a huge van with 5 other people and dragging around heavy equipment. We just throw the guitar in the back and away we go !
5.In the song "Tightrope", we can hear a violin. Aimée-Lynn plays violin ?
The violin in "Tightrope" was played by Kristin Agee. She did a beautiful job with very little notice ! We hope to experiment more with the violin in the future.
6.Which style and musical artist you seem to be nearest ?
Some musicians we both enjoy are Jewel, Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes and The Beatles.
7.In your blog you take pleasure to be afraid with films of horror...
Yes, we love to get scared and watch horror films, it’s like going on a rollercoaster. Frightening and fun !
8.Think that your music can stick one day to a film of horror ?
It might be a bit of a contrast... but who knows ! Stranger things have happened.
9.Who write ? compose ?
Aimee writes the words and the melody and TJ writes the music.
10.When you’ll be famous and rich, you will still make show in pubs ?
Hahah Of course, we would choose a small intimate venue over an arena any day of the week. That’s kinda what THE CHARLES SHAW PROJECT is all about.
11.Think that your group will grow with a beater, a bass player, a keyboard ?!
We have thought about it, when we record again in the winter we want to experiment with different instruments..like cello, piano and drums. The songs we have now have been recorded ourselves or through friends so they are basically rough ideas or reference tracks.
12.What can we hope for you in the future ?
We are in the planning stages of a east coast tour and once we get some more new material written we will record a full length CD. After that it’s all up in the air, we will just keep on moving forward ! Would love to come visit ya in France !
