The Bone-Rubbers est un duo de musiciens dont le premier groupe formé en 1977 ( Good Medecine) marquât à jamais le début d’une longue et riche collaboration qui perdure encore aujourd’hui.
De leur parcours commun au sein de nombreuses formations et au fil des ans (Juju Messengers , Blues Technicians…), The Bone-Rubbers synthétisent aujourd’hui la philosophie de ses deux musiciens
Phil Bonin, lead vocal et guitariste bien connu du milieu blues français , manie et mélange les riffs de guitares bluesy aux instruments plus traditionnels qu’il fabrique souvent lui-même ( Cigar Box, Ukulele, Dobro…), accompagné en cela par Phil Rubio à la basse qui martèle le fond du temps avec une obstination primale.
The Bone-Rubbers réussissent une fusion électro « Roots Blues & Loops » tout en distillant des versions acoustiques crues et entêtantes.

When they formed Good Medecine in 1977, this duo couldn’t have known that they’d still be together all these years later. There have been other formations, certainly, Juju messengers, The Blues Technicians, but Phil Bonin, well-known within French blues circles and Phil Rubio were always to be found at their centre.
The bluesy riffs, trad pluckings and home-brew strumming on whatever cigar-box guitar he just happens to have finished making this week or whatever dobro or ukulele is currently intriguing Phil B.’s guitarist’s imagination still need the obstinate primal thump of Phil R’s trusty Precison Bass to anchor the beat. Now with The Bone-Rubbers they are flying the electro-tinted flag of "Roots Blues and Loops", a new slant on their decades-old partnership. Knowing these two modern traditionalists, it’s probably not the last time they invent a new recipe to get our feet tapping, hands clapping, whooping an’ hollerin’.
